Responsibilities

Build, modify, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and optical devices, instruments, systems, or processes
Provide general lab support
Maintain responsibilities in more than one functional area, including electronics, cable/harness assembly, laser/fiber optical devices, instrumentation, and laboratory operations
Monitor experiments and make and record observations to support the design and development of novel technologies
Coordinate equipment calibration, conduct technical experimentation, document efforts, and provide inputs to scientific and engineering reports and publications

Required

Associate degree in STEM discipline or equivalent experience in technical field(s)
Active DOE Q-level (or DOD equivalent) security clearance

Preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills to understand requirements and prepare and present results
Experience or knowledge in electronics, mechanics, and optics
Knowledgeable about and have experience with electrical design, installation, testing, repair, and maintenance
Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, layouts, and other technical specifications
Knowledge of, or the ability to gain knowledge of, Sandia National Laboratories environment, safety, and health policies, practices, and procedures
Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
