“Launch” into Controls Software Engineering

Responsibilities
You’ll work on a wide range of projects to support Rolls-Royce’s diverse customer base and are responsible for tasks including, but not limited to: software design, software integration, software verification, and system simulation
In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and development of power and propulsion systems, working on a cross-functional, agile team under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
Opportunities include developing software requirements with internal and external customers; designing and implementing software (both traditional and model-based); and integrating and testing control systems using hardware-in-the-loop simulators and real engines
Qualification
Required
Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking
Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively
Knowledge/experience using compiled and scripted language
Knowledge/experience with MATLAB and Simulink
Knowledge of closed-loop feedback controls systems
Good written and oral communication to a variety of audiences (e.g., team members, technical experts and management)
Demonstration of presentation skills both orally as well as visual management
Ability to travel to worksites to perform responsibilities
Educated to degree level in a STEM subject, including: Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or an engineering technology degree (e.g. Electrical Engineering Technology)
Standing/Graduation Eligibility: You will receive your degree between December 2025 and August 2026
Work authorization eligibility: Ability to work in the U.S. with indefinite work authorization; No sponsorships are available for this role
