InternThe Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is a specialized team that supports the company’s efforts to win new projects. The Cost Group intern will work alongside Cost Managers to estimate project costs and assist in the design and preconstruction process.

Responsibilities
Learning how to understand and navigate project drawings and specifications
Using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software to perform quantity take-off on WT projects
Assisting with production of estimates by entering takeoff quantities into the team’s Excel estimate template
Using PowerBI to visualize and analyze estimates through interactive graphics
Researching a building or structure they find interesting
Creating slides highlighting important attributes of the building, the architect, the builder, the materials used, and the cost to complete
Qualification
Required
Ability to understand and navigate project drawings and specifications
Familiarity with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software
Proficiency in Excel for entering takeoff quantities
Ability to use PowerBI for visualizing and analyzing estimates
Effective communication methods
Workplace etiquette
Active notetaking and developing thoughtful questions
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in Microsoft Word
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to use Microsoft Planner
