Commercial Landscape Superintendent

The Commercial Landscape Superintendent is a key leader responsible for managing field operations, overseeing project execution, and ensuring safety and quality compliance while building strong relationships with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities
Talent Oversight: Manage the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, termination, and daily labor budget management
Team Development: Provide ongoing training and mentorship to build a high-performing field crew
Administrative Reporting: Oversee weekly labor reports to ensure alignment with financial targets
Schedule Management: Create, manage, and execute project schedules to ensure all quality and timeline goals are met
Field Oversight: Perform regular field walks and inspections to monitor progress and maintain quality standards
Operational Problem Solving: Partner with Project Managers to identify needs, remove roadblocks, and ensure the crew has the resources required for success
Client & Vendor Relations: Act as the primary field contact for clients and build long-term, professional relationships with vendors
Project Documentation: Collaborate with the team to develop RFIs and provide the necessary data to Project Managers for change order creation
Cross-Functional Partnership: Maintain a positive attitude and communicate daily with Project Managers to ensure seamless project integration
Safety Enforcement: Strictly enforce all project safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment
Contractual Adherence: Manage subcontractors effectively and ensure all project requirements are understood and fulfilled
Professionalism: Attend client meetings and perform other duties as required to uphold the company’s standards and reputation
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in commercial landscape or construction management
Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and legal contracts
High comfort level transitioning between active construction sites and an office environment
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain a positive attitude and collaborate across teams
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on documentation and proactive problem-solving
Preferred
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred but not required
