Chief Financial Officer
The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority is responsible for operating the Fort Wayne International Airport and Smith Field Airport. They are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee the Authority’s business and administrative operations, ensuring sound financial management and strategic planning while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Responsibilities
Provides oversight and direction for the Authority’s business and administrative operations, including finance oversight, human resources, information technology, administration, purchasing, and property management
Partners closely with the Controller to ensure sound financial management while focusing on governance, compliance, organizational effectiveness, and strategic planning
Serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, supporting business development, risk management, capital planning, and stakeholder coordination
Promotes accountability, transparency, and service excellence across the organization and ensures alignment with applicable regulations, Authority policies, and long-term strategic objectives
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of and ability to grasp and communicate Federal, State, County and municipal laws related to the financial management of an airport and related facilities; knowledge of policies and procedures related to modern airport business operations and practices
Knowledge of financial planning, accounting and budgeting
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, analyze and interpret data, especially as applied to areas of financial and statistical analysis
General knowledge of property acquisition and property management
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop solutions that meet the Authority's business objectives
Strong professional written and verbal communications skills, ability to write and present clearly to the staff, CEO, the Board of Directors, government agencies, members of the business community, and customers
Ability to diffuse potentially volatile customer and stakeholder situations
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality service within tight timeframes while simultaneously managing multiple projects
Ability to anticipate CEO informational needs and provide timely advice and counsel on finance and administrative matters as it relates to business objectives
High standard of personal integrity and professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
Self-motivated and independent, able to work with minimum supervision
Identifies goals and objectives for subordinate staff and provides staff with access to training and development opportunities to facilitate professional and personal growth
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Accounting with more than seven years of work experience in business management, finance, public administration or airport management
Preferred
Master's in Public Administration or Business Administration, Certified Public Account (CPA), or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) designation are desirable
