Responsibilities
Managing and growing a team of (currently 4) data scientists focused on modeling key business problems
Mentoring and guiding team members as they build out quantitative models in python using industry standard techniques
Evangelizing the data science team’s capabilities and integrating with product, engineering and operation teams in order to build a roadmap and backlog of data science solutions with business impact
Running quarterly planning with the engagement of business stakeholders to ensure that the team is running in the right direction
Working closely with our Modeling Engineering team (currently 1) to optimize and improve our infrastructure for model research, development and deployment
Qualification
Required
2+ years of Data Science management with a team of >3
5+ years of modeling/data science experience overall
2+ years of experience at a consumer product company
Deep technical expertise in SQL and Python, with experience in analytics and machine learning tools (dbt, Airflow, Spark, MLflow, etc.)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into actionable insights for commercial and executive stakeholders
A passion for developing talent and building a high-impact culture rooted in accountability, data-driven decisions, and business outcomes
Preferred
Experience applying predictive modeling to credit risk assessment, churn prediction, loss and revenue forecasting is beneficial
A Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Applied Mathematics) is strongly preferred
