TCEQ - Engineer I-III

Capps Plumbing and Sewer, Inc. is seeking engineers to join the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), an agency dedicated to protecting public health and natural resources. The role involves conducting engineering reviews, providing customer service related to drinking water programs, and mentoring staff within the Water Supply Division.

Responsibilities

Conduct in office and/or on-site engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations of routine to moderately complex information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and follow up with appropriate actions
Provide information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal communication, email, correspondence, meetings, on-site assistance, and presentations
Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency’s drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs)
Provide training and mentoring to other staff. Serve as a subject matter expert engineer for assigned programs/topics
Participate in special projects, such as serving as an owner of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working on Section/Division business process improvement projects

Required

Texas Professional Engineer's license for Engineer I
Texas Professional Engineer's license plus one year of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure for Engineer II
One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer I for Engineer II
Texas Professional Engineer's license plus two years of full-time engineering experience beyond licensure for Engineer III
One year of full-time experience at TCEQ as an Engineer II for Engineer III
Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure
