Human Resources Intern
AriZona Beverages is a family-owned American company known for its top quality beverages. The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources Department with various administrative tasks, gaining exposure to compliance, recruiting, and file management while supporting the HR team in maintaining organized employee records.
Responsibilities
Support the HR team by updating and maintaining both active and terminated employee files, ensuring all documentation is filed appropriately and in compliance with retention policies
Assist with general scanning, filing, and organization projects across the HR department
Shred employee files only after approval from the Director of HR and in accordance with document retention guidelines
Assist with follow-up of any missing documentation to ensure fully compliant employee files
Assist the HR Team with maintaining and auditing Form I-9 records, calculating retention dates for terminated employees, and filing or archiving as appropriate
Learn and follow best practices in I-9 recordkeeping and compliance
Scan and upload new hire employee files into ADP while learning the company’s document naming system
Assist with scanning and digitizing long-term employee files to ensure all HR records are electronically stored and organized
Assist the HR team with scheduling phone screens and interviews
Conduct reference checks when appropriate and under supervision
Type and organize interview or screening notes for recordkeeping purposes
Participate in phone screens or interviews as an observer to gain exposure to recruitment processes
Provide general clerical support to the HR team as needed (e.g., document preparation, meeting coordination, data entry)
Participate in HR onboarding, file management, and compliance training sessions
Learn about HR policies, confidentiality standards, and digital record management
Seek feedback and clarification before shredding or permanently deleting any documentation
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in a Human Resources, Business Administration, or related undergraduate program
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ADP or other HRIS platforms a plus
Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative HR team environment
