BE - Designer II
Perkins&Will is an architectural and design firm seeking a Designer II to contribute to project success through design execution and adherence to standards. The role involves preparing design plans, supporting team members, and participating in design reviews while demonstrating a strong understanding of branding and environmental graphics.

Responsibilities
Uses enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design
Exhibits understanding of branding concepts (including interior architecture, print graphics, environmental graphics, and signage and wayfinding) and their integration in the built environment
Provides design support to team members
Prepares design plans, design strategy, storytelling, color plans, and schedules
Develops plan diagrams, sections, and elevations
Manipulates basic design elements and applies principles of design such as form, scale, color, texture, pattern, balance, and proportion
Prepares presentation materials and models for client presentations
Participates in site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements
Uses a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way
Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual
Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large
Takes increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities
Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups
Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader
Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants

Proficient knowledge in interior architecture including but not limited to building codes, site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documents, field measurements, life safety requirements, specifications, construction contract administration, design conceptualization, hand sketching, furniture specifications, including research, selection, and budget analysis
Environmental graphic design expertise including but not limited to research capabilities, brand strategy, storytelling, copy writing, art direction, identity design, graphic design conceptualization, PSD/AI scripts and actions, vendor selection, micro site design, prepare, recap, and analyze visioning sessions
Production artistry including material research, dimensioning/detailing, specifications, sampling, production art files, RFI responses, construction coordination, assistance with preparation of production files
Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
Intermediate Revit
Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay
Physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting
Presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop
Functional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Vector Astor
Phantasm
Functional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Sign Agent
A degree in interior design, architecture, graphic design, or other related discipline is required
LEED GA within 6 months of hire
Professional Accreditation within one area of Living Design: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer or RELi AP
