Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers in integrating and enhancing existing fund accounting systems to create a new service offering
Connect with third-party accounting tools, custodian systems, and client-specific technologies to create seamless operational workflows
Work closely with the Fund Administration product and operations team to understand specific requirements of fund management, including limited partner reporting, capital calls, distributions, and regulatory compliance
Architect and implement integration solutions that connect core systems with existing accounting software used by VC firms, ensuring data flows seamlessly between platforms while maintaining accuracy and regulatory compliance
Guide a small team of engineers in developing APIs, data connectors, and workflow automation tools that integrate with existing internal and external systems
Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize integration features and ensure solutions meet the operational needs of the client base
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field
12+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in technical leadership roles
Strong experience with system integration patterns, API development, and data pipeline architecture
Proven expertise with modern programming languages (Java, Python, C#, or similar)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of database design, ETL processes, and data transformation techniques
Experience leading and managing software development teams
Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Preferred
Direct experience with fund administration, investment management, or alternative investments
Knowledge of venture capital operations, fund structures, and LP/GP workflows
Understanding of financial regulations (SEC, ERISA) and compliance requirements in fund administration
Experience with real-time data processing and reconciliation systems
Background in financial data integration, including custodian feeds and transfer agent systems
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native development
Knowledge of data analytics platforms and business intelligence tools
Previous experience at investment management firms, fund administrators, or financial technology companies
