Laboratory Technician I - Sample Receiving (Wednesday - Saturday, 10-hour Shift)

They are seeking a Technician I - Sample Receiving to manage sample reception and data entry in their Richmond, VA lab, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpy’s SOPs
Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests
Completes inventory and order inventory as needed
Manages production of bottle preparation and shipments
Assists in sample bottle preparation
Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program
Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Must pass screen drug testing
Must have a clean driving record
Proficient in computers and database software
Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
Able to work independently and make sound decisions
Well organized and have an attention to detail
Must be able to lift sample containers, such as coolers, up to 50lbs
Preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications preferred
Some lab experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
Able to work independently and make sound decisions
Well organized and have an attention to detail
