Steam Turbine Engineer - Power Generation Systems

As a Steam Turbine Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in steam turbines and related systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency in power generation. You will collaborate with various teams to troubleshoot issues, plan outages, and implement improvements.

Responsibilities
Accurately scope, plan, and support steam turbine outages, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective work
Serve as a subject-matter expert for steam turbines, turbine valves, and supporting systems, providing solutions for emergent and long-term needs
Apply mechanical engineering principles and performance analytics to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement
Tackle complex turbine-related challenges with data-driven, practical, and innovative solutions
Work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, and Supply Chain to align turbine strategies with organizational goals
Support and guide junior engineers, sharing expertise and fostering technical excellence across the team
Develop and implement new approaches to enhance reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of turbine systems
Qualification
Required
Proven expertise in steam turbines, valves, and associated systems, ideally within power generation or heavy industrial environments
Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and turbine outage planning
Experience analyzing operational or performance data to drive informed engineering decisions
Ability to work independently while also thriving in cross-functional, collaborative environments
Problem-solving mindset, with a track record of delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions
Commitment to safety, reliability, and advancing sustainable energy practices
A four-year bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline (see approved list) from an ABET accredited institution, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution or an ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) institution
Five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions

Eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions
Preferred
Problem analysis/resolution techniques
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline
Experience in the utility industry
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
