DFW On Wing Support Production Leader – SECOND Shift

Responsibilities
Own the safety and welfare of your team—model safe behaviors, remove hazards, and verify adherence every shift
Ensure continued compliance with all regulatory requirements; close gaps fast with robust corrective and preventive actions
Maintain training plans and authorizations for all technical staff; keep qualifications current and audit-ready
Set clear priorities, coach in the moment, and recognize wins to elevate performance
Execute performance management with fairness and urgency, including Performance Improvement Plans and disciplinary actions when needed
Develop skills and depth through structured on-the-job training and cross-training
Resolve production problems at the root; recommend and implement operational changes that improve flow, quality, and turnaround
Manage surge staffing and risk assessment to meet demand without compromising safety or quality
Direct labor utilization with data—forecast demand, analyze trends, and align resources to plan
Manage the end-to-end flow of work through the shop in partnership with Materials & Logistics
Optimize inventory to support lead time and cost control—right part, right place, right time
Establish and sustain visual management so status, bottlenecks, and priorities are clear at a glance
Build strong, transparent relationships with OWS customers, the Customer Team, and local stakeholders
Communicate commitments, risks, and recovery plans proactively; drive actions to protect customer schedules
Own the site Lean strategy and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Design and implement work cells and single-piece flow to eliminate waste and improve first-time yield
Facilitate, train, and coach teams in Lean fundamentals; standardize wins into standard work
Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to improve process capability, reduce defects, and stabilize processes
Act as the site champion for FLIGHT DECK practices and daily tier cadence
Zero-injury mindset, audit-ready compliance, and a trained, authorized workforce
Clear daily plan, visible status, and fast problem resolution at the lowest level
Stable flow with predictable turnaround time, optimized inventory, and fewer defects
Engaged teams who understand the why, own the work, and improve it continuously
Trusted customer relationships built on proactive communication and reliable delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of manufacturing leadership experience)
A passion for front-line leadership and developing people
Experience in production, maintenance, or MRO environments (aerospace preferred)
Working knowledge of lean tools (e.g., 5S, visual management, standard work, problem solving) and a track record of measurable improvements
Strong judgment, urgency, and communication skills to align teams and deliver under pressure
