Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to work closely with external manufacturing partners and design teams, contributing to the Quality Engineering workstream to reduce manufacturing defects and warranty costs while increasing reliability.

Responsibilities

Define and implement advanced manufacturing strategies for robotics and automation systems that improve scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and lead the seamless transfer of new products into production
Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and manufacturing readiness reviews for all new product introductions
Oversee management of tooling and capital investments to support growth
Perform analysis, including FEA and tolerance analysis, to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, controls, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and product success
Identify and troubleshoot design challenges, implement effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement
Clearly communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to a collaborative team environment and a culture of learning
Up to 25% of travel may be required

Required

Bachelor's degree Engineering or equivalent industry experience
Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience
Strong foundation in mechanical/electrical design principles and hands-on experience
Demonstrated ability to select and integrate components such as motors, sensors, and actuators
Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, electrical, casting, sheet metal, plastics)
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
Passion for robotics, automation, and innovation

Preferred

Experience in industrial robotics, automation, or material handling
Knowledge of PLM systems
Experience with design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
