The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) is seeking a Donor Services Associate in their Charlottesville, VA office. This role involves ensuring accurate processing of donations, maintaining data integrity, and delivering exceptional donor services as part of the Development Operations team.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the processing, documentation and acknowledgment of donations in Salesforce and electronic files according to established protocols

Manages and resolves donor inquiries and issues, providing exemplary customer service and stewardship

Serves as the primary liaison with SELC’s broker about stock transfers, tracks progress of stock gifts, and communicates with relevant Finance and Development staff regarding these gifts

Coordinates with Human Resources team to update staff information in Salesforce

Collaborates with the Annual Giving and Individual Giving teams as well as the Communications department to support campaigns, mailings, events, and donor engagement initiatives

Manages returned mail and address updates

Manages deduplication processes

Supports the Operations team with additional tasks as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum one year of relevant professional experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel

Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity, integrity, and accuracy

Reliability, responsiveness, and courtesy in all team and donor interactions

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven with excellent time management skills

Collegial and collaborative team player

Preferred

Experience with Salesforce NPSP preferred

Experience in nonprofit fundraising experience is strongly preferred
