Component Design Engineer - Structures and Casings

Responsibilities

Deliver new component designs and design changes within the Design Technical Approval (DTA) Process, which includes (but is not limited to) creating design concepts, optimizing concepts to a final definition, preparing technical presentations and documents, supporting creation of drawings, delivering hardware for validation, and release of hardware to the field
Support the supply chain in procuring hardware from multiple suppliers including concession consultation and execution of Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs)
Provide engineering support of service and/or development related hardware issues including Engine Investigations (EI) and Technical Variance (TV) consultation
Develop and specify component design requirements in accordance with module, system, and customer interface requirements
Address manufacturing, assembly, in-field, and aftermarket issues as they arise
Participate in or lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) teams

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, with 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, OR
Master's degree in mechanical engineering, OR
JD/PhD in Mechanical Engineering
To be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred

Demonstrated experience in the design, analysis, and verification of complex aerospace mechanical components and/or systems
Demonstrated experience in progressing designs/changes through a gated review process
Experience with aerospace structures and casings components
Expertise in the following software applications: Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, Microsoft Excel
Expertise in dimensional tolerance stack-ups and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Knowledge of gas turbine subsystems and components and their function and operation
