Responsibilities
Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations for services
Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software (Fusion for Speech/OT and Tebra for ABA)
Ensure all claims are submitted accurately and on time, with a goal of zero errors
Post insurance and patient payments, reconcile accounts, and identify discrepancies
Monitor claim status to follow up on unpaid claims, resolve denials, and manage appeals
Work closely with therapy and admin staff to ensure documentation supports billing and meets payor requirements
Respond to billing inquiries from payors, clients, and providers
Oversee the provider credentialing process
Periodically present collection trends to senior leadership
Qualification
Required
4+ years of medical billing experience, including ABA, speech, and/or occupational therapy billing
Strong knowledge of CPT codes and billing practices for ABA, speech, and/or occupational therapy
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently
