Responsibilities

Highway and Roadway Design: Develop highway alignments and profiles, typical sections, and cross-sections in accordance with NJTA, NJDOT and AASHTO standards

Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and within budget

Safety Improvements and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic: Evaluate existing roadways for safety improvements, including existing signage and striping. Develop the MPT needs for construction projects to manage traffic flow safely during construction, including barrier placement, construction signage, and temporary striping

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with NJTA, NJDOT, AASHTO, and local transportation agency regulations

Plan Development and Software Utilization: Prepare technical reports, plans using CAD software, with preference for MicroStation, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with NJTA and NJDOT standards
