Berkeley County Government is always looking for new poll workers to staff precincts throughout the County. Poll workers have a unique opportunity to serve the community, meet your neighbors and become involved in the election process, performing duties such as processing voters and ensuring compliance with election laws.

Qualification

Required

Be a registered voter, or at least 16 years of age
Attend training and pass a certification course BEFORE each election
Work the ENTIRE election day (6:00am until the last voter in line votes and precinct is cleaned)
Be non-partisan and neutral when working (you cannot be an elected official or immediate family of any candidate)
You must be able to stand long periods of time, bend, stoop, have physical dexterity and lift approximately 40 pounds

Benefits

$60 for attending training
$75 by the County
$25 by the State for working the election day
