Akkodis is seeking a Senior IT System Design Engineer to support enterprise and operational technology environments for a major client. This role focuses on designing end-to-end IT and IT/OT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Responsibilities

Design end-to-end enterprise IT and IT/OT system architectures, including:

Compute

Storage

Networking

Virtualization

Security layers

Architect scalable, fault tolerant, and highly available infrastructure solutions

Translate business and operational requirements into technical designs and system standards

Design backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency strategies

Lead system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements

Design, deploy, and manage physical and virtual server environments

Hands-on experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V

Perform capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance tuning

Support high availability and failover solutions

Design and administer Windows Server environments

Architect and support:

Active Directory

Group Policy

DNS, DHCP

IIS

File and print services

Implement Windows security best practices including patching, firewall configuration, and access control

Develop automation using PowerShell and manage systems using SCCM

Support and configure switches, routers, and firewalls

Understand VPNs, network segmentation, and intrusion detection/prevention concepts

Collaborate on secure network designs supporting IT/OT separation

Experience supporting or designing systems in OT or industrial environments is a plus

Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, or plant floor systems preferred

Understanding of uptime, safety, and operational continuity requirements

Required

Expert level experience as an IT System Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer

Experience with Control Systems Servers

Strong infrastructure and system design experience (architecture ownership required)

Advanced Windows Server and Active Directory experience

VMware or Hyper-V virtualization expertise

Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders

Willingness to travel up to 30%

Preferred

IT/OT integration experience

Manufacturing or industrial environment exposure

Compliance-driven infrastructure design experience

SCCM design and automation experience
