Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain Active Directory environments, including domains, trusts, and organizational units
Perform environment maintenance, including infrastructure upgrades, Entra Connect upgrades, and security patching
Install and configure domain controllers and directory services
Manage and maintain default domain policies and domain controller hardening policies
Optimize and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security, configuration, and compliance requirements
Configure and maintain AD replication, sites, and services for high availability and performance
Support and optimize OU and GPO delegation
Monitor Active Directory health and proactively resolve service issues
Act as an expert escalation resource for AD, DNS, LDAP, authentication protocols, and GPO troubleshooting
Serve as a subject matter expert during IT audits and third-party assessments, identifying risks and ensuring compliance
Create and maintain technical documentation for AD architecture, processes, and procedures
Design, build, test, and deploy scripting and automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce risk
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance user experience, efficiency, compliance, and cost optimization
Mentor junior engineers, promoting accountability and professional growth
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree + 6 years of systems engineering experience OR High School Diploma / GED + 10 years of systems engineering experience
Strong experience with Active Directory administration, including delegation, logging, replication, and authentication
Experience building new Active Directory infrastructure across multiple domains
Preferred
Experience with Entra ID / Entra ID Connect
Microsoft 365 pass-through authentication
Advanced AD security hardening and enterprise-scale directory services
