Healthcare Planning Project Manager (Non IT)

Responsibilities

Leads discussion, coordination, and process management of Enhanced Use Leases (EULs) implementation at the VA West Los Angeles (WLA) Campus as part of Strategic Facilities and Master Planning (SFMP) department
Coordinates all project efforts between clients, WLA support services, and internal team members, while facilitating positive relations among all stakeholders
Leads or contributes to performance and process improvement initiatives)
Leads project team through the planning, execution, and closeout of space moves to include the planning for the movement of staff and the outfitting of equipment and furniture
Works on site at the VA West LA Campus five days a week to ensure full integration, client engagement, and project success
Produces client ready deliverables related to the five phases of Project Management (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing)
Identifies and addresses client needs specific to federal program and project management, and federal consulting or federal project management
Responsible for actively participating in and facilitating client discussions and project meetings
Manages engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project budget with the occurrence of unanticipated issues
Guides, plans, and oversees the development, maintenance, and operational access to comprehensive scheduling documents used by all levels of management
Interfaces with customer and contract personnel to develop and track project plans and deliverables, to include forecasts and prioritize efforts and identify resources to accomplish tasks
Coordinates all activities with the various stakeholders of the project delivery team to include weekly meetings, user group meetings, developing and maintaining deliverables
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment, restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility
Develops executable solutions to satisfy project requirements
Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and clients to solve complex problems

Required

Strong knowledge of program and project management fundamentals, including the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
Takes the lead role in developing client-ready deliverables
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, including formulation and review/approval of official and technical correspondence and reports
Ability to meet and deal effectively with officials at all levels and in various environments, both structured and unstructured, and clearly communicate information
Strong time management skills, self-starter, prioritizing workload with minimal supervision
Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
Adhere to schedules and meet deadlines
Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across diverse professional settings
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Legal authorization to work for any employer in the U.S
Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI low-risk public trust clearance
If non-US citizen, required to have lived in the U.S. or in a U.S. territory no less than three (3) continuous years preceding the start of position
Completed accredited bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Minimum of 3 years of project management and planning experience; experience in government healthcare projects preferred
Active professional certification (e.g., PMP, AICP, LEED, or equivalent) relevant to project management or planning required
Experience and understanding of the Department of Veterans Affairs or other similar government agency

Preferred

Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is a plus
Skilled in Microsoft applications such as Project (intermediate to advance), Visio, and file sharing system such as SharePoint and Teams
Master's degree is a plus
