Senior Intern
Caravel Autism Health is focused on providing effective ABA therapy for clients with autism. The Senior Intern will implement behavior intervention plans, assist in developing treatment strategies, and provide training to behavioral technicians while delivering direct services to clients.

Responsibilities
In conjunction with BCBA and caregivers, implements programs to address socially significant needs of the client ensuring that therapy is conducted so that motivation of the client is used to establish and maintain cooperation, promote self-advocacy, autonomy and engagement
Ensures that indicators of assent and withdrawal of assent are noticed, honored, and measured. Works with BCBA to implement programming to promote communication skills to express assent and assent withdrawal
Uses clinical observation and highest-level technology (PathTap) at least weekly to ensure effective and efficient data-based decision making
Assists BCBA with baseline and ongoing assessments of new clients using appropriate assessment protocols and procedures, probing skills listed on adaptive, developmental and functional behavior assessments via direct observation and data collection
Follows and abides by the BACB Ethics Code, Caravel ethical guidelines and policies, regulations, and laws and adheres to mandated reporting regulations
Attends relevant workplace meetings as required
Creates, prepares and organizes instructional materials
Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA to address behavioral goals and objectives of clients
Delivers treatment to clients 80% of hours worked including, but not limited to 1:1 direct services
Qualification
Required
Must have at least 1,500 hours of supervised experience of implementing programs based on ABA principles
Must be a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) or obtains RBT within 120 days
Ability to interact with and work with a variety of children on the autism spectrum
Must display energy and creativity
Critical thinking skills, with strong analytical abilities
Strong work ethic, with the ability to meet scheduling commitments
Strong leadership skills to include conflict resolution, coaching, and training
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
Must be able to communicate information and ideas by speaking in a way in which others will understand
Demonstrate the ability to successfully adapt and perform in an ever-changing, fast paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Must be self-motivated and goal oriented
Maintains consistent attendance
Maintains professional boundaries with clients and their families and represents company in a professional manner
Must be 18 years old or older
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred or expected graduation within 6 months of taking on the role
