Responsibilities

Manage and Grow Existing Customer Relationships Own and strengthen relationships with established customers, ensuring high satisfaction, retention, and profitable growth while serving as the primary commercial point of contact
Develop New Account Relationships to Support Growth Targets Identify, qualify, and onboard new customers aligned with PLA business objectives, converting opportunities into long-term, value-driven partnerships
Expand Relationships Beyond Procurement Build strong multi-level relationships within customer organizations, including executive leadership, technical teams, R&D, and operations, to increase influence and embed LANXESS solutions deeper into customer value chains
Create and Execute Customer-Specific Account Strategies Develop detailed account plans and long-term growth strategies tailored to individual customers, clearly outlining opportunities, risks, competitive positioning, and differentiation levers
Position LANXESS as a Strategic Partner, Not a Transactional Supplier Collaborate with internal technical, innovation, and supply chain teams to deliver differentiated solutions that address customer needs and clearly distinguish LANXESS from competitors
Attend and Leverage Industry Trade Shows and Conferences Represent the company at relevant trade shows and industry events to strengthen existing relationships, identify new prospects, and stay informed on market trends and competitive dynamics
Drive Market Intelligence and Opportunity Development Monitor market trends, customer developments, and competitive activity, translating insights into actionable sales strategies and growth initiatives for the PLA business
Deliver Results Against Revenue, Margin, and Growth Objectives Own sales performance within assigned territory or accounts, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue, margin, and strategic growth targets while maintaining disciplined pipeline management

Required

Bachelor's degree required
3–5 years of relevant professional experience
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and objectives simultaneously
Proven track record of setting priorities effectively and aligning activities with sales management objectives
Consistently achieves results, even in challenging situations
Demonstrates energy, persistence, and a strong sense of ownership
Maintains focus on outcomes, meets deadlines, and applies extra effort when required
Effectively negotiates with internal and external stakeholders
Resolves differences with minimal friction, secures concessions without damaging relationships, and quickly builds trust with counterparties
Strong understanding of business objectives, performance metrics, and results-driven decision-making
Knowledgeable about current and emerging policies, practices, trends, and market dynamics impacting the business and organization

Preferred

BS in a technical discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Engineering) strongly preferred
