Responsibilities

Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to state administrative procedures, regulations, and case law. Prepare detailed reports and summaries to support legal strategies
Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and correspondence, specifically related to state administrative matters. Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
Assist in managing state administrative cases, including tracking deadlines, organizing case files, and coordinating with clients and state agencies. Maintain detailed records and documentation
Serve as a liaison between the firm and state administrative agencies. Prepare and file administrative forms, applications, and other documents with state agencies
Monitor changes in state regulations and administrative procedures. Advise attorneys and clients on compliance issues and procedural requirements
Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case status, and address any inquiries related to state administrative matters
Provide general administrative support to attorneys and the legal team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing case-related materials
Ensure that all filings and documentation are submitted accurately and timely to state agencies. Maintain organized and accessible case files and records

Required

Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with a focus on state administrative matters
Demonstrated experience working with state regulations, procedures, and agencies
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
Strong understanding of state administrative law and procedures
Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills
Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and state officials

Preferred

Paralegal certification (e.g., from NALA or NFPA)
