Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join their purchasing department. The role involves performing purchasing functions, ensuring product quality, and coordinating with associates across the country.

Responsibilities

Communicate with F&B Director, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to order all F&B products according to hotel needs and specifications
Forecast operational needs and schedule deliveries of food and beverage items
When necessary deliver paper products, food, and beverage to necessary departments
Monitor the grades and quality of products received to ensure they meet the hotel's established standards
Determine the food and beverage requirements for catering menus, and order according to guarantee of the menus
Obtain bids from vendors, using the telephone and FAX machines, according to the specifications set by the department heads
Ensure appropriate levels of inventories are maintained to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover
Participate in hotel meetings including weekly staff, F&B, and daily menu meeting
Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
Perform other duties as requested by management
