Responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver facility projects from planning and procurement through construction and close-out, ensuring work aligns with established scope, schedule, and budget parameters
Support the development and implementation of larger capital improvement projects and strategic programs—such as sustainability, technology, accessibility, and safety—by coordinating assigned tasks, maintaining documentation, and supporting communication across project teams under the direction of a supervisor
Prepare project scopes, budgets, and schedules; assists with procurement, solicitation, and contract administration; and coordinates the work of consultants, contractors, and Zoo staff to ensure compliance with public contracting rules and Metro standards
Collaborate across Zoo departments to plan and schedule work that minimizes operational impacts to guests, staff, animal care; monitors field activities, reviews submittals, tracks progress and maintains accurate documentation and reports using enterprise software and other project management tools
Contribute to process improvements, promotes collaboration, and supports planning and reporting efforts that advance Zoo operations and strategic goals
Maintain accurate project records, logs, and reports to support project decision-making and compliance with Metro requirements

Required

Associate's degree or higher in construction management, engineering, architecture, facilities management, telecommunications, or a related field
5 years progressively responsible project management experience in a wide variety of construction and communications trades, including 'hands on' experience, field construction project coordination
Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities

Preferred

Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
Commitment to providing excellent customer service by interacting courteously and professionally with employees, volunteers, vendors, the public, and others encountered during the course of work
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications and schematic drawings
Previous experience managing capital projects in public venues
Previous experience working in a government organization
