Manufacturing Engineer

A.T. STAFFING is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who is responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This role involves designing tools and workflows, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating cross-functionally to maintain high performance and reliability of equipment, tooling, and production methods.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products
Provide technical support to production teams to resolve process or equipment issues
Design layouts for equipment, workflow, and material handling to improve productivity and safety
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new product designs
Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Lead cost reduction and productivity improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies
Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
Recommend and implement changes to improve quality, reduce waste, and optimize cycle times
Support 5S initiatives and plant layout optimization for improved efficiency
Specify, procure, and validate new manufacturing equipment and tooling
Lead installation, testing, and qualification of new machines or automation systems
Maintain preventive maintenance standards and collaborate with maintenance teams for reliability improvements
Evaluate vendor capabilities and coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and safety regulations
Support root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) for production or quality issues
Participate in internal and external audits as needed
Collaborate with Quality and EHS departments to implement safe and compliant work practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, assembly, machining, brazing, etc.)
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools
Understanding of process control, statistical analysis, and root cause methodologies
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
