Facilities, Pipeline, & Installations Intern

National Fuel Gas Company is an established oil and gas exploration and production company. The Facilities, Pipeline, & Installations Intern will assist the Production team with overseeing daily operations of natural gas facilities, analyzing operational data, and participating in design reviews and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

Assist with the oversight of daily operations of natural gas facilities, including compressor stations, dehydration units, meter sites, and pipeline systems
Collect, record, and analyze operational data including pressures, temperatures, and equipment readings
Perform pipeline hydraulic modeling and compression modeling with oversight and direction
Create maintenance program reports, import asset data, and audit databases
Participate in design reviews for new facilities
Assist with documentation required for DOT/PHMSA, EPA, and internal compliance processes
Participate in safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and hazard recognition activities
Assist in updating drawings, site documentation, and asset records (e.g., P&IDs, GIS data, equipment logs)
Create presentation materials and reports for leadership
Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

Required

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree or have recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field
Basic understanding of natural gas systems or interest in the upstream/midstream energy sector
Ability to work safely in industrial field environments
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Basic or similar coding language
Ability to read or willingness to learn basic engineering drawings (P&IDs, isometrics)
The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America
