Hydrologist
Karen Clark & Company is seeking a highly qualified Hydrologist to join their Model Development Team. The role involves developing advanced catastrophe reference models and conducting analyses of historical and real-time flood events in collaboration with other scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop the technical aspects of flood hazard and impacts models
Research regional natural and manmade hydrological aspects that can lead to flooding events
Compile related literature and datasets required for model development
Conduct model sensitivity and validation tests
Provide documentation for technical publications
Conduct post disaster field surveys after major events
Qualification
Required
PhD with background in hydrology and/or hydraulics, with research relevant to flood inundation modeling
Experience with model setup, calibration, and validation
In-depth knowledge of and skills in probability and statistical methods
Experience with GIS tools, such as ArcGIS or QGIS
Experience with numerical modeling and computer programming such as Python, FORTRAN, R, C#, and/or others
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Preferred
Experience programming using Arcpy and geospatial tools is a plus
