Education

Responsibilities

Monitoring grant awards including establishing the award, ensuring expenditures in the grants are allowable, adhering to reporting due dates and preparing final reports while ensuring post award compliance with State and Federal guidelines
Prepares journal entries
Assists with cash management and preparation of the Cost Report and Annual Financial Report
Analyze data
Interpret detailed information and convert to knowledge-based reports and recommendations
Manage multiple projects while ensuring accurate and timely internal controls over financial transactions

Required

High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
Two (2) years of related experience
Advanced computer skills required (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, email, web)
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Broad knowledge of general accounting principles, practices and procedures
Deadline oriented
Ability to analyze data, interpret detailed information and convert to knowledge-based reports and recommendations
Strong analytical skills
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to interact with individuals, teams, supervisors, and management
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring accurate and timely internal controls over financial transactions
Strong work ethic

Preferred

Associate's degree strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience in governmental accounting is preferred
