Responsibilities
Conduct Engineering department performance audits and identify opportunities for improvement
Hands-on evaluation of condition of industrial bakery equipment of various types
Monitor and assist with the maintenance and improvement plans and strategies within the bakeries
Develop and drive corrective action plans for bakery maintenance departments that are not meeting performance measures
Model safety leadership with maintenance/engineering teams
Support the bakeries in identifying improvement opportunities, providing technical support and troubleshooting
Research and present new equipment, programs, processes, equipment, etc. that will positively impact the bakeries
Provide technical assistance and information as needed
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in a technical field, preferably with food manufacturing or consumer goods industry
Competent in Microsoft Office and CAD software
Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background with high standards
Strong background in safety for industrial environments
Strong preventive maintenance (PM) background with skills in developing effective PM procedures
Desire to coach professionals for growth and excellence in maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability processes
Self-starter who can work effectively with little supervision
Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently
Demonstrate good leadership, decision-making, project execution and communication skills
Utilize strong analytical skills to solve problems and make decisions based on limited precedents or guidelines
Excellent conflict management skills and ability to partner with other organizations to be successful and resolve issues
Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to work in a fast-paced work environment
Preferred
2+ years of leadership experience in a Maintenance department
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
LME or equivalent electrical license
Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering
Predictive maintenance (PdM) experience is desirable
Experience with industrial automation and controls (e.g. PLC, servos, etc.) is desirable
Previous experience managing in a union environment is desirable
