Advocate Supervisor - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

CASA of Williamson County is dedicated to advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The Advocate Supervisor will supervise and support CASA volunteer advocates, guiding them in providing effective advocacy for children involved in the child protection system.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support CASA volunteer advocates serving as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Guardian ad Litem for children in the child protection system
Coach, empower, and guide advocates to provide high-quality, child-centered advocacy and move cases toward safe permanency
Attend and participate in staff and case-related meetings including Permanency Conferences, Family Group Conferences, ISP, ARDs, and Adoption Staffings
Attend and participate in related court hearings; provide assistance and supervision of advocate court reports, court attendance, and testimony
Provide advocates with information, professional contacts, and community resources related to placements, services, and supports for children and families
Assist advocates in identifying obstacles to permanency and resources to resolve obstacles while steadily moving cases forward
Provide timely notification of meetings, staffings, and hearings; maintain consistent communication with advocates and stakeholders across legal, education, and therapeutic systems
Support volunteer retention through training, continuing education, skill-building, feedback, and thoughtful case matching; assist with recruitment, fundraising, and community meetings as needed
Supervise no more than 30 volunteer advocates (unless multiple volunteers are assigned to a single family group) and a maximum of 35 family groups (optimum 28-30)
Maintain accurate and complete client case records and advocate/case statistical data according to state and national CASA standards
Support team members by providing backup for meetings and court hearings and assisting with office and program demands as needed
Participate in continuing education opportunities (12 hours per year) and assist with program development and evaluation as requested by leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred (significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Fluency in English and Spanish required
Experience providing staff or volunteer supervision and the ability to manage people
Understanding of child and family advocacy, including placement options, therapeutic needs, and permanency planning
Ability to clearly identify permanency planning issues and support effective advocacy to move cases forward
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear and concise documentation and report review
Ability to work under time constraints, be goal-oriented, and maintain productive relationships with advocates, clients, and partners

Preferred

Master's degree preferred (significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
