Responsibilities

Responsible for performing tests such as Parasitology, Hematology, Chemistry and Serology
Process and prepare samples
Perform all required quality control per Quality Assurance guidelines
Train in all areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Coagulant according to all SOP’s
Oversee the entering and releasing of results
Read UA slides at the required rate
Reconcile pending list
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Must be proficient in at least three clinical areas
Responsible for performing tests such as Parasitology, Hematology, Chemistry and Serology
Process and prepare samples
Perform all required quality control per Quality Assurance guidelines
Train in all areas to include Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, and Coagulant according to all SOP's
Oversee the entering and releasing of results
Read UA slides at the required rate
Reconcile pending list
Perform other duties as assigned
Associates/bachelor's degree in medical technology or MLT degree in related field is preferred
Clinical laboratory experience in Hematology is preferred
Laboratory skills and experience
General science background
Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions
Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours
Operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently
Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
Required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lbs
Heavy microscopic work
The ability to observe details at close range
Extended hours may be needed
Laboratory environments with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE
Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards

Preferred

Associates/bachelor's degree in medical technology or MLT degree in related field
Clinical laboratory experience in Hematology
