Start in 2026 SummerMonterey Bay Aquarium is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace and is offering an internship for STEM students in their baccalaureate years. This internship provides hands-on experience in the Applied Water Science Laboratory, where students will assist with laboratory tasks and engage in a final project related to applied water science.

Responsibilities
Assist water science laboratory staff with instrument calibration and maintenance
Conduct daily rounds
Perform chemistry and microbiology testing
Participate in laboratory safety training
Observe and assist applied water science staff
Assist with data management
Support environmental discharge management
Design, implement, and present a final project pertinent to the Aquarium and Applied Water Science
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master's degree program or within one year post-graduation
In good academic standing
Able to work safely in a laboratory environment utilizing handheld laboratory tools, such as pipettes
Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Interns may choose either two (preferred) or three eight hour days per week or a combination of half and full days to accommodate class schedules
