Responsibilities
Manage the Midwest Underwriting Team
Evaluate and underwrite large property insurance submissions
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analysis to determine appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing
Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure a thorough understanding of each risk
Maintain a keen awareness of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other key stakeholders
Work closely with the management team to establish underwriting guidelines and strategies for the portfolio
Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio, making recommendations for adjustments as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field
10 years of underwriting experience in large property accounts
In-depth knowledge of the energy industry, including familiarity with various energy sources, technologies, and associated risks
Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess complex risks
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
Proven track record of meeting underwriting goals and contributing to the profitability of a portfolio
Proficient in using underwriting software and other relevant tools
Preferred
advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
