Responsibilities
Advise, initiate and/or implement cost savings related to plant layout, new equipment and tooling
Monitor plant and departmental efficiencies and utilization
Maintain equipment and tooling within safety and environmental standards
Provide leadership and direction to departmental staff; evaluate staff performance to maximize use of staff talents and abilities to reach plant objectives
Responsible for plant compliance with OSHA, insurance carriers, and state air and water pollution control boards
Estimate and maintain a viable standards program
Prepare annual capital expenditures, deferred tool and major expense budgets and coordinate procurement
Develop and maintain a standards program including labor standards and process sheets for tooling, equipment, layouts, capacity studies and plant production methods
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial technology, or a related field, is required
At least 5 years of experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Preferred
Experience within a lean manufacturing environment is highly preferred
Experience with HVAC or thermodynamics is highly preferred
