Compliance Manager
Alexander Chapman is partnering with a well-established mortgage platform seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and enhance its compliance framework within the residential lending space. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of regulation, operations, and strategic growth. The Compliance Manager will oversee regulatory governance, compliance framework development, training, audit management, and cross-functional partnerships.
Responsibilities
Track, interpret, and implement changes across federal and state mortgage regulations
Act as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and investor partners
Maintain regulatory schedules, reporting obligations, and required filings (including MCR)
Own the development and ongoing enhancement of compliance policies and procedures
Ensure compensation structures and lending practices align with applicable regulations
Oversee compliance across disclosures, fair lending, marketing, AML, and data retention
Build and deliver compliance training across all functional teams
Serve as the go-to resource for compliance-related inquiries and escalation
Translate regulatory updates into clear, actionable guidance for the business
Lead internal compliance reviews and quality control initiatives
Manage responses to external audits and examinations
Track remediation efforts and corrective action plans through resolution
Oversee company, branch, and individual licensing across multiple jurisdictions
Ensure proper management of originator licensing and renewals
Maintain compliance with state-level mortgage banking requirements
Collaborate closely with leadership, operations, sales, and marketing teams
Provide compliance input on new products, initiatives, and systems
Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory risks tied to business decisions
Qualification
Required
Experience in compliance management within the residential mortgage sector
Strong understanding of federal and state mortgage regulations
Ability to track, interpret, and implement regulatory changes
Experience acting as a liaison with regulators, auditors, and investor partners
Proven ability to develop and enhance compliance policies and procedures
Experience overseeing compliance across disclosures, fair lending, marketing, AML, and data retention
