Machinist Internship
Barry-Wehmiller is a diversified global supplier of engineering consulting and manufacturing technology for the packaging and paper-converting industries. They are seeking a Machinist Intern to operate, inspect, and maintain a variety of machine tools while supporting production schedules and collaborating with the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities
Assist producing parts to print holding tight tolerances while working to production schedules
Able to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
Perform machining operations on a wide variety of manual and CNC machine tools to support customer service parts order requirements
Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Perform fabrication operations as required
Collaborate with the manufacturing team and administration cell to improve processes and update job standards for future use
Ability to do close tolerance work, read and comprehend part drawings, and to inspect his/her own work using both computer-controlled and hand tool inspection equipment
Perform assembly operations as required
Ability to adapt to changing situations and solve problems in an efficient manner
Communicate with team members and leaders to provide work updates
Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Actively enrolled in an accredited Machining program
