STEM Cell Program Assistant

NEOGOV is seeking a STEM Cell Program Assistant to support two CIRM-funded programs at California State University, Fullerton. This role involves managing program activities, tracking progress, and facilitating communication with students and partners to ensure successful implementation of the programs.

Responsibilities

The BSCR Program Assistant will support the CIRM-funded Bridges to Stem Cell Research (BSCR) program operations as needed
Gathers and shares important details, tracks progress, and follows up to make sure students and institutions meet critical deadlines
Routine Activities include checking email accounts, organizing files and records, and updating shared tracking sheets
Facilitates Community Building by staying in touch with students through the respective program and beyond, and keeping the students updated on the planned activities, work and events
Helps prepare official agreements (MOUs) with partnering internship sites for the two programs
Collect, verify, and submit stipend and appointment forms to ensure students are paid and officially listed on the CIRM portal
Assist with enrollment of students in both programs for both spring and fall semesters
Update applications, organize interviews, and helps launch the new cohort by confirming agreements, registering students, and ensuring training requirements are met
Financial responsibilities include payments to students, internship sites, and vendors while keeping track of reimbursements and contracts
The CIRM-funded programs host two annual symposia and one seminar per semester. The Assistant will schedule room reservations, coordinate advertising materials, print interns’ posters, coordinate catering, and payment of guest honoraria
Assist students presenting in conferences with reimbursement paperwork, collect and compile data for the annual reports, and manage end-of-internship forms and evaluations
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Research experience in biologyBachelor’s Degree in BiologyTeaching experienceOrganizational skillsCommunication skills

Required

Minimum two (2) years of research experience in biology, and some teaching experience
Minimum Bachelor's Degree of Science in Biology
