Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business objectives to optimize category spend
Create comprehensive category plans to drive cost efficiencies, improve supplier performance, and meet strategic goals
Manage relationships with 3-4 key suppliers, focusing on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), performance monitoring, and risk mitigation
Analyze category spend (typically above $25M) to identify opportunities for savings, process improvements, and value creation
Lead complex negotiations to secure favorable terms, mitigate risks, and drive supplier accountability
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and supply chain performance
Partner with internal stakeholders to align category strategies with organizational goals and project requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering or other job-related discipline from an accredited college or university
Five (5) years materials or services procurement experience with significant exposure to strategic supply chain management issues
In lieu of bachelor's degree, professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) plus nine (9) years of significant, closely related materials/services/supply chain experience
Associate's degree in business or related discipline, professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) plus seven (7) years of significant, closely related materials/services/supply chain experience
Experience in conducting supplier negotiations
Experience in reviewing and redlining contracts
Experience in RFx processes + Request for proposal (RFP), request for information (RFI), request for quote (RFQ) and/or request for bid
Have a proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management for high-value categories
Demonstrate strong negotiation and analytical skills, with experience managing large spend transactions and influencing supplier outcomes
Possess expertise in cost analysis, process improvement, and driving supply chain efficiencies
Are skilled at collaborating across departments to align procurement strategies with broader business unit goals
Excel at building and managing relationships with key suppliers to optimize performance and mitigate risks
Have experience in implementing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) frameworks to manage key suppliers
Bring a proactive, results-driven approach to solving complex procurement challenges and driving continuous improvement
Preferred
MBA or master's degree in a related discipline
Professional certifications such as CPM or CPSM
Working knowledge of procurement systems, supply chain techniques, and TCO analysis
Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems
In-depth understanding of category management, supplier diversity, and contract management
