Responsibilities

Build strong customer relationships by coordinating fresh flower distribution

Understand all aspects of floral procurement

Build strong vendor relationships in accordance to Hy-Vee’s code of ethics

Source, procure, price, and market fresh floral products

Enter orders into computer on a timely basis

Periodically works in refrigerated area; temperature 36º to 42º F

Assist with inventory counts for perishable products on a weekly basis

Create category POs for payment and reconciles/researches vendor billing issues on purchases

Organize purchasing and inventory data into meaningful reports

Assist with order picking and processing of perishable products

Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment

Represent the company in a positive manner

Perform other miscellaneous duties as necessary

Perform duties in a timely manner

Report to work when scheduled and on time; works evenings and weekends as needed

Required

High School or equivalent

An understanding of customer service

Knowledge of fresh flowers - design experience and/or sales experience is required

Must be customer service driven and able to communicate clearly and effectively

Must have basic working knowledge of computer use, to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook e-mail and calendars

Able to operate menu driven computer programs with mouse, 10 key keypad, and alpha numeric keyboard

Ability to read and obey MSDS information on products

Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers

Must have the ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions

Must be able to file, post, sort, and organize materials, paperwork and software used

Must be able to perform work duties in a refrigerated environment

Must be able to physically perform light to moderate work: exerting/lifting 10-50 lbs. frequently

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, climbing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hearing, and repetitive motions
