Accounts Receivable Project Accountant
Confidential company is seeking a lead Accounts Receivable Project Accountant responsible for overseeing all company project billing and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. This role is vital to maintaining accurate project accounting records and supporting the financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the complete project billing lifecycle for all company jobs
Drive accurate and timely customer billing, including progress billings and AIA applications
Set up new projects in the accounting system, including Schedule of Values (SOV), project budgets, and required customer documentation
Maintain and reconcile Work in Progress (WIP) schedules; provide billing projections to management
Ensure all billable items are captured and processed in accordance with established procedures and the Project Manager checklists
Review subcontractor AIA payment applications for accuracy, contract compliance, and supporting documentation; enter approved applications for payment
Manage and distribute required customer documents, including Certificates of Insurance, W-9s, lien waivers, and other compliance-related materials
Complete and maintain all customer-requested prequalification packages accurately and on time
Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on outstanding invoices, and coordinate resolution of billing or payment issues
Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related AR matters with internal teams and external customers
Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and contractual requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvement while consistently following established procedures
Qualification
Required
Prior Accounts Receivable experience in the construction industry, or demonstrated project accounting experience
Strong knowledge of construction billing practices, including AIA billing and SOV-based progress billing
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Strong communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills
Proven reliability, accountability, and consistent attendance
Proficiency with accounting systems and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
