Sr. Software Engineer, Application Platform

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance core features of our complex enterprise performance management SaaS platform, focusing on robust and scalable backend services
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for backend systems
Architect and implement robust and scalable backend solutions, considering performance, security, and data integrity
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into detailed technical specifications
Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring high coding standards and best practices
Proactively identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and bugs within backend systems, ensuring optimal application performance and reliability
Contribute to the evolution of our backend architecture, exploring and evaluating new technologies and approaches
Champion best practices in backend development, including testing, documentation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment processes
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in backend development, sharing your knowledge with the team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience in backend software development
HR/Performance management experience would be highly valued
Expertise in backend languages like Node.js, Python, or Go, and experience building complex, scalable microservice-based backend systems using event-driven architecture
Proven experience with backend frameworks and technologies (NestJS, Express, Django, relational and NoSQL databases)
Strong understanding of backend architecture patterns and best practices for building scalable and maintainable applications (Microservices, Integrations, Observability)
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation, including AuthN/AuthZ
Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for backend applications
Familiarity with message queues and asynchronous processing, EDA (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies for backend deployments
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and best practices for backend deployment
Experience with AWS, especially services relevant to backend operations
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, Agile environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to enhance productivity and code quality is a plus
Experience or interest in working on Generative AI-related projects is a plus
Familiarity with frontend systems and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue.js, Angular, React) is a great plus
