Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Financial Accounting Analyst to join their finance team. This role involves preparing financial statements, conducting account reconciliations, and supporting various financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards

Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure accuracy

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with precision and timeliness

Perform journal entries, general ledger accounting, and accrual accounting activities

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives

Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and internal audits

Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and other financial tools to maintain accurate records

Interpret financial reports and provide insights for management decision-making

Ensure compliance with SOX controls and other regulatory frameworks

Mentor junior team members on accounting procedures and best practices

Contribute to the development of internal controls related to corporate accounting functions

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Finance; 2 years of experience preferred

Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting environments

Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and securities law as applicable

Familiarity with technical accounting standards such as LIHTC regulations and estate law is a plus

Proficiency with accounting software including Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools

Experience with financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and audit support

Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and account reconciliation processes

Ability to perform cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Excellent analytical skills combined with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Effective communication skills for mentoring team members and preparing comprehensive reports

Prior experience in public accounting or private equity is advantageous
