Field Tech Engineer

Oxford Solutions is working with an innovative technology client focused on improving safety across the commercial trucking industry. This role involves hands-on installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems on commercial vehicles, primarily in a warehouse setting with regional travel for customer support.

Responsibilities

Perform installation of hardware and software systems on semi-trucks, including cameras, sensors, monitors, and central computing units
Integrate systems with vehicle power, 12V wiring, and CANBUS networks, including developing and routing custom cabling as needed
Configure and verify software functionality during and after installation
Troubleshoot and resolve installation and system issues in warehouse and field environments
Conduct functional testing and safety checks to ensure systems operate as intended
Serve as a technical point of contact during on-site visits, including explaining system functionality and providing basic user guidance
Document installations, configurations, and any field modifications accurately
Travel regionally to customer sites for installations and technical support (approximately 25%)

Required

Minimum of 5 years working on commercial motor vehicles, including at least 2 years on semi-trucks
Hands-on experience working on commercial trucks, with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Experience installing hardware systems and performing basic software configuration
Working knowledge of semi-truck electrical systems, including 12V wiring
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in real-world field conditions
Proficiency using hand and power tools related to vehicle installation and repair
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with customers
Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
Willingness and ability to travel as needed

Preferred

Familiarity with vehicle camera systems, sensors, or safety technology
Experience working with CANBUS networks
Startup or fast-paced product deployment experience
