Responsibilities
Assist in the setup and configuration of pilot-scale manufacturing equipment and production lines
Work with the contractors/local county personnel to procure permits prior to equipment installation
Perform basic engineering calculations and equipment recommendations for production and process improvement
Support testing and validation of process technologies, including the analysis of samples and data collection from pilot runs
Help troubleshoot mechanical issues encountered during operation and participate in equipment maintenance activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review design modifications and process changes needed for scale-up
Document findings, draft technical reports, and maintain logs of pilot studies and production activities
Prepare 3D drawings, technical documents, and bills of materials as needed for new or revised system components
Participate in training sessions for operators and presentations summarizing pilot study results
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
5-10 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, etc.)
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
Knowledge of mechanical testing methods and standards
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Effective communication skills to collaborate with a diverse team and present technical information clearly
Experience with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and other applications
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment or tools sourcing
Preferred
Some hands-on experience (internships or coursework) in manufacturing or process engineering is helpful but not always required
