Responsibilities
Perform complex technical tasks to assist engineering staff with industrial layouts and manufacturing production processes
Quickly respond to production floor issues, including tooling misalignments, machine stoppages, and incorrect work instructions, determining methods to remedy complex malfunctions
Assist Manufacturing Engineers with time and motion studies, maintaining manufacturing instructions, and initiating change requests within ERP/ERS systems
Perform evaluations and audits of current work instructions to identify and implement improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency
Regularly engage with production operators to ensure instructions are clear and accurate, flowing feedback to Engineering to incorporate necessary changes
Design and optimize industrial layouts and manufacturing sequences to enhance overall productivity
Qualification
Required
Associate degree (AS) in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field required
Demonstrates proficiency (typically 4–6 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)
Advanced electrical/electronic knowledge, including a strong understanding of schematics, drawings, and the interworking of machines (e.g., AC/DC power conversion)
Mechanical expertise regarding the design, use, repair, and maintenance of industrial tools and machinery
Proven track record in complex problem solving and troubleshooting, with the ability to identify patterns or defects within distracting environments (Flexibility of Closure)
Expertise in manufacturing production processes, including data analysis for process improvement and quality assurance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
Strong communication and 'problem sensitivity' skills—the ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong before a failure occurs
ITAR obligations are associated with this role; U.S. Citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required
