Professional Development Specialist
Arkansas Children's is a healthcare organization focused on providing quality care to children. The Professional Development Specialist is responsible for creating educational opportunities and programs tailored to the learning needs of nursing staff, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the learning environment and meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities
Collaborates to develop short and long-term department goals, and determine resources needed
Participates in the development of a financial plan that allocates resources to support the department
Role models high standards for education, quality, professionalism, and accountability
Synthesizes outcome data from learning needs assessment and other quality indicators to plan, implement, and evaluate educational initiatives and programs to bridge gaps in knowledge, skill, and/or practice
Utilizes organizational and nursing strategic plans and goals to determine priorities for education and development
Plans programs that are culturally and socially relevant and incorporates concepts of multicultural and multigenerational education
Assesses learner characteristics, including learning styles and learning needs for program development
Ensures readiness of appropriate learning setting, resources, facilities, materials, instructors, and equipment for planned educational activities
Functions as both teacher and facilitator
Contributes to nursing and interprofessional practice by supporting, conducting, and synthesizing research and evidence-based practice
Monitors classes delivered by departments to ensure adherence to AC standards and guidelines
Evaluates course instructors to ensure they are able to perform and teach skills, and evaluate students per AC guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree, Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent or Nursing Diploma
Related Field - 6 years of experience
1 of the following certifications is required - , Registered Nurse (RN) license - Arkansas or Compact State
