Market Sales Manager, On Premise - Milestone Brands, LLC
Milestone Brands, LLC is a company focused on building brands in the beverage industry, and they are seeking a Market Sales Manager to drive sales through direct engagement and field activities. The role involves working with distributor partners, managing on-premise accounts, and implementing marketing strategies to achieve distribution goals.
Responsibilities
Deliver annual depletion and distribution goals for the portfolio
Monitor and evaluate distributor performance against the market goals putting in place corrective action plans when there is a gap against plan
Call on top 100+ On-Premise accounts in the geography; Estimated 10 per day
Implement the activity calendar in the market, paying particular attention to the pricing and program strategies that will deliver the market goals
Implement the business channel and account strategy, allocate appropriate resources to key retailers in the market
Work closely with distributor salespeople and management to execute programs efficiently & effectively at the point of purchase
Educate Distributor sales personnel on the Brand Portfolio and brand standards
Use relevant market data including IDIG/VIP to identify market opportunities
Establish and maintain relationships with select on-premise accounts
Always look to develop win-win solutions that result in value creation for the company
Show fiscal responsibility at all time. Stay within pre-agreed budget limits
Put controls in place to manage local market dollars; be transparent on spend
Monitor competitor activities in the market. Communicate information on competitive strategy & tactics to direct supervisor and key Wholesaler personnel
Undertake tastings and presentations to members of the trade and consumers; conduct on-premise tastings per month including Gin Staff Training, Tequila Dinners, etc
Participate in 'sales blitzes / crew drives' in your market and in other territories as needed
Use merchandising, POS, and promotional materials & budgets in an effective manner; stay within budget guidelines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business or related area or equivalent years working experience in related area in lieu of degree required
Alcohol beverage industry, Three-tier sales and previous professional management experience required
Strong code of ethics and high level of integrity
Energetic, self-starter manager who has demonstrated an ability to communicate, work with and lead others in a matrix environment
Works cooperatively as a member of a team (functionally, cross-functionally, across HV etc.) and is committed to the overall team objectives rather than own interests
Actively learns from own failures and successes and those of others
Acts on the values of Milestone Brands, LLC
Strong persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally
Must possess strong negotiation and mediation skills with the ability to influence and motivate others to meet objectives under sometimes-restrictive timelines
Strong analytical skills required
Ability to develop customer/distributor strategies, programs, and promotions based on competitive data to achieve overall company objectives while meeting essential customer needs
Excellent organization skills, multi-tasking, and project management skills required, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities essential
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Significant travel within assigned territory required
